Amplimesh IntrudaGuard is a perforated aluminium security door and window system. It uses specially tempered 5052 marine-grade aluminium with a three-point locking system, and is UV and corrosion resistant. IntrudaGuard is certified to Australian Standard AS5039 for security doors and is backed by a 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

Both products are made by Amplimesh and both meet Australian Standard AS5039. The main difference is the material. Supascreen uses 316 marine-grade stainless steel woven mesh with a 1.5mm x 1.6mm aperture. IntrudaGuard uses 5052 marine-grade perforated aluminium sheet with a 2.0mm aperture and a distinctive 60 degree staggered pitch perforated design. Supascreen has finer mesh (better for insect protection) and a 16-year warranty. IntrudaGuard uses solid perforated aluminium (different visual style) and has a 10-year warranty. Both deliver strong security.

IntrudaGuard mesh is made from specially tempered 5052 marine-grade aluminium. It is not a woven mesh like Supascreen, but a solid sheet of aluminium that has been perforated with small openings to allow airflow and visibility. The aperture size is 2.0mm with 40% airflow. The aluminium is UV and corrosion resistant, making it suitable for coastal Illawarra conditions.

Yes, Amplimesh IntrudaGuard is certified to Australian Standard AS5039, which is the standard for security screen doors and windows. It has been tested against knife shear, anti-jemmy, impact, pull, and dynamic impact (five 200-joule impacts). All products carry the relevant manufacturer certification and are installed to the manufacturer's specification by our team at Bayside.

IntrudaGuard has a 2.0mm aperture with 40% airflow. This will block larger flying insects, but smaller insects may still pass through the openings. Amplimesh notes that insect or security mesh provides an effective barrier to insects larger than the stated aperture; insects smaller than the aperture may not be impeded. If insect protection is your main priority, Amplimesh Supascreen (1.5mm x 1.6mm aperture) is a better fit.
